Your Diwali Google profile checklist

Eight things to do in your Google Business Profile before the festival rush. Each one takes a few minutes. Open your profile by searching your business name on Google while signed in, then use the Edit profile buttons.

  1. Add special hours for festival days

Edit profile → Hours → Special hours. Add any day you open late, close early or close fully, so Google does not show the wrong hours.

  2. Post your Diwali offer

Add update → Add offer. Give it a clear title, the start and end dates, and one photo. Offers show on your profile while they run.

  3. Upload fresh festive photos

Add photos → upload your decorated shopfront, inside the shop and your festive range. Use clear daylight photos, not posters with lots of text.

  4. Check your phone number and website

Edit profile → Contact. Make sure the number is answered during the rush and the website link opens the right page.

  5. Reply to recent reviews

Read reviews → reply to each recent one, briefly and politely. Shoppers read replies when deciding where to go.

  6. Update your products or services

Edit products or Edit services. Add festive items, gift boxes or packages with a name, photo and price range if you can.

  7. Review your category and description

Edit profile → Business category and Description. Say plainly what you sell and where, without stuffing in keywords.

  8. Check your website's offer page

If your offer links to a page on your website, check that page with SEARCH ONE so Google and AI assistants can read it.

Three things worth checking.

  • Will they know you are open?

The audit checks whether regular opening hours are published. Festival-day hours are set separately in your profile, so add them yourself using the checklist.

  • Can they call or find you?

The audit checks whether a phone number and website are shown, and whether they match your website where it can compare them.

  • Do your photos look festive and current?

The photo review says what each inspected photo shows, so you can see whether your shopfront and products are clear.

See the finding. Understand the next step.

  • Findings across eight areas of your profile
  • A comparison with three nearby businesses
  • AI-assisted review of four public photos
  • Every gap listed, with a next step

FindingSample

No clear photo of the shopfront was found in the inspected sample.

Evidence
Four public photos were reviewed: three of products, one of the interior. Other photos on the profile were not reviewed.
Next step
Add a straight-on daylight photo of the entrance and sign, so festive shoppers can recognise your shop.

An example of how a finding reads. Your report shows only what was found for your own business.

See where you stand. Then close the gap.

The audit puts your score beside the businesses around you, so you can see who is ahead and why. Each fix you complete is checked again, and your score moves with it.

Questions

How do I set Diwali holiday hours on Google?

Open your Google Business Profile, choose Edit profile, then Hours, then Special hours. Add each festival date and the hours you will open, or mark it closed. Your regular hours stay as they are.

How do I add a Diwali offer to my Google Business Profile?

Open your profile, choose Add update, then Add offer. Add a title, start and end dates, a photo and any terms. The offer shows on your profile while it runs.

Does GMB ONE check my special festival hours?

No. GMB ONE checks whether regular opening hours are published. Special hours for festival days are not part of the audit, so use the checklist on this page to add them.

Will this checklist improve my Google ranking?

No tool can promise a ranking. Complete, accurate and current information helps customers trust and choose your business, and keeps Google's information about you correct.

Is the audit free?

Yes. The GMB ONE audit is free, needs no Google sign-in and makes no changes to your profile.
