The short answer
AI Overviews, ChatGPT and other answer engines lift short, clear passages from pages that answer the question directly. A page that opens with three paragraphs of welcome text is harder to quote than one that answers in its first sentence.
Google says you don't need to write specially for AI. This checker looks for the same things a busy reader wants: the answer first, questions as headings, facts at a glance and a date that shows the page is current.

Do I need FAQ schema to pass?
No. Google stopped showing FAQ results on 7 May 2026 and says no special markup is needed for AI features. The check is marked optional and doesn't change your result.
Which page should I check first?
Your main service or product page, the one that answers the question customers ask most often.
Will passing guarantee AI quotes my page?
No tool can promise that. Passing means your page is easy to quote; whether it's chosen also depends on how much other sites trust and mention you.
