Fix 1
Check which crawlers your site lets in
If your robots.txt file tells AI search crawlers to stay out, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and others can't read your pages, so they can't quote or recommend you.
- Run the AI crawler checker first. If nothing is blocked, skip this step.
- In your site's dashboard, go to SEO & GEO, scroll to Tools and settings, and click Robots.txt Editor.
- Click View File and remove the pairs of lines blocking crawlers you want, such as "User-agent: GPTBot" followed by "Disallow: /".
- Click Save Changes, then Save.
Only remove lines that block crawlers you want. Leave the platform's own lines alone. If you're not sure, run the AI crawler checker first: it shows exactly which crawler is blocked and by which line.
Fix 2
Write a clear title tag and description for each page
Your page title is the blue link people see on Google and the first thing an AI assistant reads about the page. "Home" or your business name alone tells neither of them what you do or where.
- In the editor, click Pages & Menu on the left.
- Click the More Actions icon next to a page, then SEO basics.
- Edit the title tag and meta description so they say what you do and where.
- Publish your site.
Fix 3
Add your business details as structured data
Structured data spells out your business name, address, phone and hours in a format machines read without guessing. It helps Google and AI assistants match your website to your business.
- Wix creates LocalBusiness data for your home page once you add your business name and location in your business info, so do that first.
- Run the schema checker. If something is missing, create the code there.
- In the editor, go to Pages & Menu, then More Actions next to the page, then SEO basics, then the Advanced SEO tab.
- Click Structured Data Markup, then Add New Markup, paste the code and click Apply. Publish.
Wix accepts JSON-LD only, up to five markups per page and under 7,000 characters each. Wix Stores, Bookings, Blog and Events pages already get their own data.
Fix 4
llms.txt (optional)
llms.txt is a short plain-text list of your most useful pages for AI tools. It's optional: Google says its search doesn't need it. Do it only if it's easy on your platform.
- Run the llms.txt checker to see whether your site already has one.
- If it doesn't and you can't find an option for it in your SEO settings, skip it. Clear page titles and readable pages matter far more.
Fix 5
Speed up your pages
Most local customers find you on a phone. If the page is still blank after a few seconds, many go back and tap the next result.
- Run the page speed checker on your home page.
- Remove apps and embedded widgets you don't use.
- Use fewer, smaller images at the top of the page, and avoid an autoplaying video there.
- Publish and test again.
